    You can buy the cable from eBay for example, and I believe most people use pirate versions of those programs. There is few threads on the forum about these things.

    Hi!
    Well, it is not necessarily the DPF, but you are right your car needs diagnosing to know what's going on. I am sure there are lots of BMW enthusiasts in Sweden (and maybe some of them live near you), who have the diagnosing equipment (OBD2 to USB cable + software). Try searching here for Swedish members at first.

    But for example now the dashboard and iDrive meny has no errors? It just pops up once a month or so (the yellow engine light), the manual says it have something with the emissions from the car, so therfore I belive its the diesel filter... not sure though. Btw i dont know why i cant reply your chat message, maybe because im a new membeR?

    Hello Anzafin! I've read the thread DIY particulate filter for bmw with diesels. Now I got a question, I have a bmw 520D 2008 and sometimes I get a warning on my dashboard on engine light, but the thing is that the car goes like always - smooth good acceleration and etc. I recon is the Particle filter? but im not sure, how can I diagnose the car without paying $$$ to BMW?...

    Hi, Im new owner of e60 525d 2005 model. I saw one of your good replies for help on EGR, I wonder if you could do one for main thermostat change for me please (?)
    PS I have Finnish friend in Espoo...I often visit Finland every few years...what a great country.
