I'm having problems pairing my phone (Nokia 6320i) to my late 2004 E60 535D.
I originally noticed that when I search for the car from my phone handset, the car is found but gives a different number from the chassis number.
Today I took the car to the local BMW dealer and they have confirmed that the bluetooth module fitted in the boot is from a different car - i.e. not the module that was supplied with the car from the factory - and needs reprogramming. I'm told that this takes about 5 hours!!!
I've only had the car a couple of weeks and I know the previous owner had 3 phones paired up with the car as I deleted them when I bought it. I also know the current configeration does work as the day I picked the car up, the previous owner accepted a call through the cars bluetooth when we were in the car together. I took the car shortly after and the module couldn't have been swapped since I have witnessed the set-up working sucessfully. I have contacted the previous owner who has played dumb and denies all knowledge and simply states he's never had an issue with the bluetooth or pairing his phones.
Any ideas where I go now please? I can't justify parting with the cash for 5 hours labour at BMW dealer hourly rates for a phone connection. Just to reiterate, the problem is not a compatability issue with the phone, more a compatibility issue which has evolved from fitting a bluetooth module from a different car.
Many thanks in advance,
Lee.
