Hey Guy,
Anyone know where I can get the service manual. I have a 2006 E60 530D. Surely there is a .pdf to download free?

Try this one but if I have misunderstood you and you want an actual servicing manual, perhaps a BMW TIS would do. However there could be copywrite problems and whilst there a lot of download sites most are jokes. Downloads usually come as a series of winzip files which come together for installing on a DVD. Mine won't work on Windows 7 64 bit.

Hi xyzbird,

Thanks for the reply. That is the owners manual - I'm looking for the servicing manual. Anyone have ideas where I can download the files for dvd?

Well done. Do you have W7/64 and does it run it?

My main laptop has win7 but I installed it on an older laptop with windows xp. In the program you can input the VIN number and it knows all about your specific car - repairs, maintenance, spec, etc. YEEEHAA.

My 12/2007 TIS instals OK on W7/32. NBG on /64.

If you haven't got a PDF maker already, you could instal WIN2PDF to produce PDFs. This is freeware, but if you don't want the extra 'Ad' page then they want $35.00 / £21.00 nett of tax.

You need to burn to DVD-/+R as content is over 1.5 GB. You need Windows Disc Image Burner (comes with Windows 7) or software like Nero to burn ISO files.

WIN2PDF is only for 'printing' PDF's which you may want to do from TIS articles (copyright!).

Downloading TIS is a bit like trying to win the lottery and for me required some effort. It was free - beware of copyright. Download sites full of virus's and scams - good internet security needed.

This file download is a .iso file. When opened it will use burning software on your computer. The best disc to use is a dvd+r. When the files are burnt to the disc search for any "setup.exe" files and run them. If you are having hassale with viewing images or with .pdf files just download acrobat reader - its free on adobe.com.

Looking at this manual now - the (ST)dealers are screwing us. The E60 isn't complicated in regards to maintenance

BTW Ricky - Nice Dash Cluster

Acrobat Reader won't make PDF's (like WIN2PDF and there may be others equally good) - say you want to make a PDF of one of the TIS (or anything) to upload to this forum. Better than using jpegs or scanned documents. Most people won't be able to alter your docs unless they have Acrobat Writer but that costs around £500!

YeeeHaa you can come and service my E61. It needs a new steering rack and rear suspension air pump plus associated programming! :hyper: :hyper:

The only problem is you probably in the US of A.

Why would I want to make pdf's? Why would I want to upload them to this forum? The BMW TIS is for my own personal use. And no, I'm not from the states - I'm more local than you think!

You might have the inclination sometime to do that to help sort a problem - anyway comments for the benefit for others. Looks like some others are struggling to achieve what you accomplished.

Anyway I ain't seen a car like yours near here!
