Wax in the sun:Swivel marks and an uneaven surface that does the job, but looks really bad.
Just an esthetic thing, really.

I believe the heated paint will make the wax more difficult to to remove. Which results in the appears of the swirl or application marks.

any day is a good day, in the shade.
if you are not fortunate enough to have a garage, you need to pull it under a tree. i usually wash my car at one of those self wash places with a power washer, dry it off, drive it a few blocks home, pull it in the garage and let it cool. after about an hour, i head downstairs and go at it.
