why shouldn't you wax or wash in the sun light?

What does it do?

The main reason is that the sun will dry the car faster therefore drying up any sop residue before you have time to wash it off properly. As for waxing same prinicipal, the wax applied will dry up making it difficult to buff out/remove the was applied.
