So I detailed the car with a friend of mine today and I had just bought this stuff called Back-To-Black from Mothers.
This stuff renews the look of your black trim around the windows and the door pillars.
My friends' 1999 328i's rubber trim around the windows and on the door and bumpers was basically gray.
This stuff made them black again. Great stuff! I used it on my car too.
If you don't believe me here is some before and after:

It does have to be re-applied every so often.

Yea that's true.

I will have to see how long this stuff holds. It wasn't very difficult to apply so if I have to re-apply in a few months then so be it. :)

didnt stay long did it? sometimes this stuff wears off in the sun or rain. sometimes the rain will cause greasyness to end up on your paint. i used to use this stuff on cars i detailed, i stopped using it shortly after. it is okay on older cars i guess. i just wipe my shadowline with some spray wax or window cleaner to get fingerprints off.

Trying using good ol' wax on all black painted surfaces. They really are no different from the rest of your car. Although my E60 has the glossy black plastic upgrade to its window trim, my previous E39 had the same 'Sport' trim, as did my E46 before that one, and waxing them always came out fantastic and lasted a lot longer. I DID use Mother's for the bumper and other black plastic trim though -- lasts longer than anything else I could find that was made for plastic/rubber.

It's been holding up pretty good since I applied it.
It hasn't really rained yet but if it does and the stuff runs down my paint will it damage the paint? What the best way to rid of it after it's on the paint?

you may or may not know by now, its been a month, but it wont damage the paint. I keep spray detailer in my car, mother showtime and a microfiber rag, i use it for everything. the back to black is just kinda greasy, not bad for your car.
