I had what I thought to be an oil leak right in the middle of the two front wheels.
car started leaking two weeks ago after the dealer had done an oil change in my car.

Now, SA called me and told me that it was not motor oil leaking but transmission fluid, they were changing the gasket on the bottom of the transmission pan (or something like that) and filling it up with new fluid, under warranty.

My problem is that the spots I saw in the floor was very much motor oil
-felt like oil and looked like oil (new oil), it never felt like transmission fluid.

I'm thinking I could not have been wrong, so my question:
What color and consistency is the transmission fluid in our sevens? I feel like this guy is playing the system to get extra warranty work for the dealer, I'm maybe wrong that's why I ask.

Tranny fluid is dark red, but when on the floor can def look like oil, It has a sim consistency but is a bit more metalicy if that makes sense....

well used tranny fluid looks brown anmyway, the best thing is to take a paper napkin and soak some up, If it has a redish tint you can be sure its tranny..................tranny fluid, not a tranny

Yeah they prob just spilled some or nicked the end of the washer on the drain plug, then put in for a tranny claim.... So Bmw paid 1200 for your oil change....
