Convertible caught with top down

The powerful M-version of BMW’s 3-series is scheduled for launch next year only. The 3-series M will be available as coupe, convertible and four door. For the first time power will come from a V8 powerplant. It is a 4.0 litre engine delivering 415 HP, transmission is a seven speed SMG gearbox. A traditional six-speed manual transmission will be offered as an option.

Four photos from this set are showing for the first time an M3 coupe prototype from all angles on a test drive in Munich featuring the large air intakes at the front end, wider fenders and four exhaust pipes. Another year later BMW will launch an M3 convertible - and a four door version.

Two more photos are showing the 3-series coupe in full showroom trim (these two photos were mildly computer generated). The 3-Series coupe will also get power from BMW’s new six cylinder Bi turbo engine delivering 300 HP. Clearly visible on the prototype: the corresponding two exhaust pipes.

Another two photos are of the upcoming new 3-series convertible with the top down, the other photo is from our files and shows the retractable steel roof as close up.

Man...super stuff.
I somehow knew they are going to launch it (the m3) first as a 2 door coupe (wich is my only main interest anyway), SMGIII gearbox, and 400+bhp from their entirely new v8. I wonder what the torque will be? 420-425 NM?
As i see those spy pics of the new m3 my heart literally starts to beat faster and faster. That's how excited i am to see what they will come up with...since there is a posibility if the product is good enough (say for instance to beat the new audi rs4 :D) to aim at it as my next car.
My car: E60 535d + lots of other goodies!

Family car: E71 X6 50i no mods!

I' would be aiming for the new M3 as well but as I see the roads getting worse and worse and the traffic heavier and heavier I think the new X5 3.5 diesel bi-turbo will be just fine :)

Ohhh come on maaan. You simply have to drive more carefull, and avoid bad roads. That's it. Yes traffic is getting heavier and heavier but an x5 won't do you good either. I drive most of the time in town and i simply use the best roads there are, and when driving on worse roads, or unfamiliar roads i simply drive way way slower and pay more attention. If the road is that bad i simply find a route around it. If you complain about bad roads then you should visit Romania and see what bad roads are all about. Or no roads  Then tou should be thankfull for the road infrastructure you've got.
If we are talking about mpg then all i can say the 3.5 diesel biturbo isn't such economic. In city drive the ebst i get is 13.5-14 l/100km. That's 18-19mpg?! If you add more weight (x5) than you would get even worse results. It's not much of a difference between 14liters to 20 liters/100km. What's 6 more liters at every 100km you make (city driving) considering you get the sound of a mindblowing v8 and 415bhp at your disposal AND terrific figures from 0 to whatever.
