The owner of this silver F10 528i sedan drove down from norcal / San Francisco to me in Orange County to have his window trim vinyl wrapped with my gloss black vinyl. Similar to what the shadowline trim would have looked like from the BMW factory. I took more close up pictures around the edges, corners, etc this time to show you guys in more detail of how the finished product looks.

Dealer has a car on ship arriving soon, I am interested in it. My question is that my current 08. 550 has the m sport pkg which includes active roll. The new 2012 550 has sport m pkg and all wheel drive but no active roll. I love the handling of the 2008 550 (amazing). How is the handling of 2012 550 without ars? My wife has a 2012 535xi with msport, no ars, I really don't like the handling, too much body roll. I am planning to lower car and dinan stage 2. How comparable in handling are the 2 with some suspension work on the 2012. Please let me know your experience. Thanks...

F10 (525d) front brake error?

friends
i bought this car in november 2010, from few months back this year the voice control feature stopped working and it was showing 6000km for next service and in vehicle status everything was OK, i took the car to the service center and they checked it and updated its software version and then voice control feature activated, then i checked the Vehicle Status, it shows me OK in everything instead of Front and Rear brake pads, there was a Triangle mark, i told this to engineer and then he pressed the button in speedometer which is in left hand side of speedometer, he did the reset kind of thing and everything gets perfect for that time, i drive the car about 50km and checked vehicle status again and again and found everything is OK, but today when i started the ignition it shows me Service Due on 0km, i checked the vehicle status and found the TRIANGLE sign again in front brake, but there is no GONG sound and no indication in the speedometer screen, i dont know what happened just after updating the software, please help me out to reset it again, i dont know how to reset that.

Hey Guys,

I missed a recent group buy for dvdinmotion.com software and realized many people have missed it too. I was wondering if anyone here or anyone you know would be interested?
I have contacted Lucie from dvdinmotion.com and she is willing to allow a second group buy for the same rate: For the $110 price we need 50+ members. She will also include the legal disclaimer removal software for free to this group buy.

She did mention that most buyers from the previous buy were 5 series F10/F11 owners and other BMW owners missed it (http://dvdinmotion.com/supported-cars).

The threads I found have good info:

You can PM me or email me at miss535i@gmail.com by Thursday 5/3/12 if you are interested. I will place my order by next weekend regardless, so if anyone is interested, let's do it for a better price. I will need the following info emailed to me: name, email and VIN.
For those of you that have perhaps driven a 5-series with standard rear wheel drive and a 5-series xi model, was the xi a significant benefit, and in what driving conditions? I am in the mid-Atlantic U.S. with a few snow days per year. If the driving experience, especially from a safety perspective is really clear then maybe it's worth it for my next 5.
Your experiences?

Anyone here with Vossen CV3's?

I need to find out what the best tire combo for the CV3 is.

I've done a search and the only threads with Vossen wheels are form Vossen....and I've already spoken to them and they weren't very helpful. The most they could tell me was that they're not too sure what works best....if anything maybe Nitto? Kind of vague considering they have many posts here with CV3's setup on cars with tires.

The CV3 is a 20" rim and only come in 20x9 and 20x10.5....so if you have these rims, please let me know what tire brand / size you're running.

My current setup is with Michelin Pilot Super Sport in 245/35-20 and 285/30-20 and I'm getting more stretch than I'd like so I'm looking for possible alternatives that will have a nice fit with no stretch.

I've already bought a set of Michelin for $1400 and made somewhat of a mistake....so any help would be appreciated before I go spend money on another set of tires and get the same result!

Thanks!

Run Flats vs. Not - Your Experiences

Hi All,
Planning the F10 purchase sometime in the hopefully not too distant future. I know run-flats are delivered and that to revert to standard tires would be expensive, so my question is - does anyone reading this post have experience with an F10 or prior model with and without RFT's? My guess is the soft ride people complain about on the F10 is in direct response to BMW trying to engineer the harshness out of run flats... if so, what is the ride experience like with standard treads?

Although I am somewhat concerned about replacement cost for run flats ($400+ USD each), my main questions is, will the ride performance improve actually, or is the softer ride and distant-feel in the steering wheel built in to the platform now and the rubber side walls won't make a big difference.

Thanks for your comments and experiences.

E-Sys - Code Your F-Series Yourself

Here's links to E-Sys on usenet and Rapidshare. I can't guarantee how long the link on Rapidshare will last, so get it while you can.

The program works and I've been successful in coding auto fold mirrors, trunk close from inside button and key fob, and auto close of windows and sunroof with key fob. You can also unlock DVD in motion and turn off many of the notifications (i.e seat belt chime etc.)

You'll need to build an interface cable (OBD to ethernet), or buy one on eBay when they become available. Overall better than paying someone to code your vehicle. Read the .nfo for more information.
Can't make up my mind though, should I look for a preowned 2011 with some miles or get a brand new one? I never owned a brand new car because I always felt like the car loses lots of value as soon as you drive off from the dealer. What I really want is tough to find, my config would be 535i M package, Alpine white, oyster and black interior, cold weather, premium, seeating, technology and maybe ceramic controls?

What do you all think? New or keep looking for a preowned? Can I really save that much buying one with 15 20 K miles ?

The 535 dA has made 14.444 kms since 7.7.2011. Average fuel consumption 7,3 l/100km. No faults, just pure joy of driving. Today I made a couple of iPhone pictures after Swissvax detailing. 3 step detailing: first paint rubber claying, then polishing with Cleaner Fluid Professional and finally Sealing with Concorso wax.

So I've been paying close attention to this new f10 m5 and I'm really liking what BMW has done. Now my question is the headlights..? I've been doing some research ,watching videos and looking at picture, but I can't figure out if the halos and white or that ugly yellowish color? If they are lci or pre lci? Would anyone know this ? And if so help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Would you do something differently?

Hi All,

I am an E60 owner (2006 with 162,000 miles) and looking at the 2013 model year for an F10. What are the features that you are really glad that you got with your F10, or the ones that you WISH you had gotten?

Thanks for your ideas in my design/ordering!
