How come the HUD display disappears if I'm wearing my sunglasses?
Some users report that the HUD display disappears when wearing polarized sunglasses. Reports indicate that the display appears fine with non-polarized sunglasses.

That's exactly my experience, Lomag. I have tried several types of sunglasses with HUD and only the polaroids cause the diplay to become invisible.

This is basic physics. Since the HUD reflects off the glass, the reflected light becomes polarized. Polaroids, of course, are polarized lenses, and if the glasses are on a different axis of polarization from the reflected image, well, you're not going to see anything!

Apparently one of the displays in the new 7 series disappears when wearing Oakley sunglasses.
I was wearing polarized sunglasses driving an M-B S-class recently and just about everything blanked out on me -- climate control display, COMAND screen, MID in the instrument cluster, etc.!
